Why Work With Us
Abby D the OT offers affordable, relationship-centered therapy that meets children where they are—bringing services directly to homes, schools, and community settings to make support accessible and meaningful.
Welcome to Abby D the OT
At Abby D the OT, pediatric occupational therapy is rooted in evidence-based, occupation-centered practice. We focus on the real-life activities children need and want to do, such as handwriting, executive functioning, classroom participation, self-care, and play, and use research-supported methods to help them succeed.
Intervention is purposeful and goal-directed. When concerns arise, we assess the specific occupation and the contributing factors, then design therapy that is practical, meaningful, and aligned with current research. This approach supports clear goals, transparent decision-making, and outcomes families and educators can see and feel.

Meet Your Occupational Therapist
Hi! I’m Abby.
Hi, I’m Abby, a pediatric occupational therapist based in St. Louis. I created Abby D the OT to offer accessible, relationship-centered support for children, families, and schools in the St. Louis area.
My work is grounded in collaboration and real life. I partner closely with caregivers and educators to ensure therapy goals are shared, practical, and meaningful across home, school, and community settings. I believe occupational therapy works best when everyone supporting a child is connected and working toward the same goals.
My goal is to help children feel understood and capable, and to help the adults in their lives feel confident in how to support them.
What to Expect
-
We’ll connect by phone, Zoom, or in person to talk through your child’s strengths, challenges, and your goals. Together, we’ll decide whether services are a good fit and what next steps make the most sense.
-
I’ll spend time getting to know your child through an evaluation session and, when helpful, connect with teachers or other providers to gain a full picture. If your child has had a recent OT evaluation, this step may be adjusted or skipped.
-
We’ll create clear, meaningful goals and begin therapy sessions designed around your child’s everyday routines. Sessions can take place at home, at school when appropriate, or in community settings like libraries or other familiar spaces.
-
Progress is monitored and shared regularly so everyone stays informed and aligned. Therapy continues as long as it’s helpful, with goals updated as skills grow and needs change.
Insurance & Billing
Abby D the OT is a private pay corporation and is out of network with insurance companies. This means we do not bill insurance directly but will produce a Superbill on request for families wishing to pursue out-of-network reimbursement. For cost of services, visit our Services page.
